New pictures are up on Madelyn’s picture page! There’s a set from our visit to the zoo on July 10th, and then a general set of pictures. There’s even a little video of her walking! That’s right, she can take 5 or 6 steps at a time now. Here’s a preview of her standing:
Without holding on to anything last night! I bet Madelyn will be walking before long. She can stand for a bit without holding on, and even takes a couple steps sometimes. She can’t wait to take off!
On Wednesday, we went to the Binghamton Zoo again. I have a family membership, and it’s well worth it since visiting the zoo is something we all can enjoy. Madelyn’s favorite animals this time were the penguins. They were swimming, so we could watch them from the under water window. They were swimming right up to Madelyn, and she loved it!
Madelyn also liked watching the fish:
Right outside the zoo, there’s a carousel, so we rode on that a couple times as we were leaving. It was Madelyn’s first ever carousel ride… well, unless you count the ride she had when I was pregnant.
We had a great time! Check out the rest of our pictures here.
A couple weeks ago we decided to go on a little day trip to Scranton, PA to check out the Steamtown National Historic Site. The weather didn’t cooperate and it was pouring by the time we got there, but luckily I had an extra outfit for Madelyn in the diaper bag. Madelyn got to go on her first ever train ride, which she really loved. I don’t know if she stopped smiling the whole time. It was a really fun day! Click here to see the pictures from our day.
Madelyn mostly eats table food now. We’ve discovered that she really loves macaroni and cheese. A couple weeks ago, I bought some “stage 4” baby meals that are basically small pieces of pasta that are good for babies just starting to eat real food. Tonight she tried the macaroni and cheese one. She LOVED it! She also loved to wear it:
I think this is the messiest she has ever gotten while eating a meal. It reminded me of this picture of Aiden (he was a little older though):
Needless to say, she had to go straight to the bath:
She had lots of fun in the bath since tonight she didn’t have to share it (usually Madelyn and Aiden take a bath together, but Aiden wasn’t done with his dinner yet).
That’s better! All clean. Her favorite game during her bath was to soak the pink washcloth in the water, then hold it outside the tub and shake it so I’d get wet.
After her bath, Madelyn got to try out the new towel that Rob got her the last time he was on a trip to Orlando:
I just updated Madelyn’s picture page with new pictures from the past month. She’s getting so big! Here’s a sneak preview:
Today I found another tooth in Madelyn’s mouth – one of the top front ones. She is now the proud owner of 4 teeth! It looks like there’s 2 more that will be here any day now. It took her a long time to start getting teeth, but now that they’ve started they seem to be coming in pretty quickly.
Madelyn finally got her first tooth! Imagine my surprise though when I was checking her mouth and found not one, not two, but three brand new teeth in there! I can’t believe she had 3 come in at the same time and hasn’t even been cranky. I expect more teeth will be coming soon, since on the top it’s not the front teeth, but the teeth next to the front teeth that are in.
This week I took Madelyn to Sears to have her 9 month portraits taken. This was our best session yet! I went in there with a few ideas which helped. I happened to think that it might be neat to bring some shells from our Atlantic City trip as a prop, and that inspired a whole beach scene which was fun. The pictures are all up on Madelyn’s picture page, but meanwhile here’s a few of my favorites:
